Our Projects
Glendale Lake Snowmobile Club Projects
Our club is active throughout the year working to maintain and/or improve our existing trail system. Below are just a few of our accomplishments. If you would like to volunteer on some of our workdays and/or donate money, materials, or services, you can visit our Membership page or contact us through our Contact page.
Prince Gallitzin State Park to Black Moshannon State Park Connector Trail
Probably our biggest project to date, the club worked with landowners, local and state officials, and businesses to create a 38 mile trail that connects the Prince Gallitzin State Park to the Black Moshannon State Park. Below are a few photos from our workdays and ribbon cutting ceremony.
Railroad Crossing on Black Moshannon Connector Trail
We installed timbers to make it possible to cross the railroad tracks. This is part of the connector trail to Black Moshannon State Park. We work with the railroad and local landowners to gain access and provide insurance to make this crossing possible.
Shomo Run Trail Extension and Bridge
Our volunteers repurposed a trailer frame to make a sturdy bridge over Shomo run at Prince Gallitzin State Park to add 1.3 more miles to the Park's snowmobile trail system.
Old Glendale Road Trail Maintenance
A group of volunteers gathered Saturday to improve drainage across this well-traveled snowmobile trail. We install four culverts and regraded the trail. Should be much smoother this winter. Thanks to the Park for the use of their backhoe and frontend loader.
